The College has been conducting a few career-intensive Add-on-courses for more than a decade. These are 80-100 hours courses, and we invite Guest Faculty from the Industry and Academic Institutions of repute, for these courses.

Advances in Plant Sciences

The "Advances in Plant Sciences" course is an interdisciplinary add-on program with over 50 participants from various colleges in the University of Delhi. Its goal is to educate students about the significance of plant sciences, as well as the advancements and scope of each sub-field of Botany. Research on plants enhances our understanding of their life processes and studying them can help us address concerns related to agriculture, public health, and the environment. The course is an important step towards meeting the demands of modern times.

Advertising and Marketing Communications

This course was introduced to undergraduate students in the year 2004-05 to provide an insight into the creative, strategic, and interesting world of advertising. Today, after a decade, we can take pride in the tangible and intangible value addition that the course has provided. Many students who have taken this course have interned and are now working in some of the best agencies in the country, such as Ogilvy & Mather, McCann, BBDO, and Universal Lode Star.

Banking and Financial Services

The curriculum of this course is comprehensive and covers a wide range of subjects, such as Financial Markets, Investment Banking, Portfolio Management, Derivatives (Future and Options), Capital Structure Decisions, International Finance, and Risk Management.

Bioinformatics - Tools and Applications

Year: 2021–2023

Bioinformatics plays a crucial role in biological research, combining molecular biology, genetics, genomics, drug screening, and development to impact biomedical and biotechnology. To provide students with a foundational understanding of bioinformatics tools, this course is offered through online lectures covering fundamental concepts.

In order to help students comprehend bioinformatics, practical sessions are provided following every lecture. After these sessions, students must submit assignments that showcase their understanding of the topics taught.

Eco-Friendly Agriculture

The "Eco-Friendly Agriculture" add-on course has been created to give students a solid understanding of agricultural practices in India and to encourage sustainable techniques. Even though eco-friendly farming practices have been used in India for some time, the course intends to promote a return to traditional approaches in a field.

Eco friendly agriculture

Eco-friendly agriculture is an approach to farming that focuses on sustainable use of natural resources while maintaining soil health, biodiversity, and environmental balance. With increasing challenges such as climate change, soil degradation, and excessive use of chemical inputs, there is a growing need to adopt agricultural practices that are environmentally responsible and economically viable. This Add On course aims to introduce undergraduate students to the principles and practices of eco-friendly agriculture, including organic farming, natural resource conservation, integrated pest management, and sustainable crop production. The course will help students understand how agriculture can meet present food needs without compromising the ability of future generations to sustain productivity and ecological health.

Fostering Mental Health & Wellbeing

This 3-month certificate course will make you more aware about the importance of mental and physical health and the interconnectedness. The course is open for all community members and will be steered by some of the most promising experts in the field from India and abroad. It will teach you to make healthier lifestyle choice and every lecture will cover evidence-based strategies to take care of your mental health and overall wellbeing. This course specifically aims to inspire and challenge you to make improved choices for nurturing your mental health and well-being across life span. The course is taught in easy language through a combination of lectures, case studies, experiential activities, multimedia videos, workshops and group discussions that would foster active learning.

Nanascience And Nanotecthnology: Innovation, Application And Future Aspects Towards Sustainable Development

The course comprised of 30 hours of educating young minds of undergraduate students about the significance of multidisciplinary sciences at nanoscale. It helped them develop research orientation towards today’s hot topics of research like nanotechnology in various fields like physics. Chemistry, Botany etc., understand recent advanced research and technology which to pursue their career in higher studies( national /international) in multidisciplinary streams. They learned about innovation of new techniques and various applications in the field of catalysis, energy resources, industries, medicines etc.

Waste management and sustainability

The course aims to address the challenges posed by increasing waste generation while promoting sustainable solutions that align with environmental conservation, economic viability, and social responsibility. The main objective of the course was to sensitize students on issues related to improper waste management, the deteriorating quality of the environment, and its impact on health. Lectures from eminent scientists were organized on different themes of waste management and sustainability. To get an insight into best practices used for waste management, two field visits were organized. During field visits, students learnt the waste-to-energy conversion technology, purification and reusing of sewage wastewater. The learning outcome of the course is to make students understand the fundamental principles and concepts of waste management, skills and motivation needed to build a cleaner, greener and more sustainable world. To gain insights into the importance of waste reduction, recycling, and resource recovery in minimizing waste and conserving natural resources.
