The Mind Lab represents a pioneering research initiative established in 2025 through strategic collaboration with the Rekhi Foundation for Happiness. This laboratory serves as a specialised research centre dedicated to advancing empirical understanding and methodological rigour in positive psychology and well-being sciences. The laboratory's foundational mission centres on cultivating scientific inquiry capabilities among emerging researchers while developing evidence-based interventions that address contemporary mental health challenges within diverse community contexts. This integrative approach enables systematic investigation of well-being constructs across multiple levels of analysis, from neural substrates to community-level interventions. These capabilities facilitate a comprehensive examination of physiological, cognitive, and behavioural markers associated with positive psychological states, enabling researchers to develop a nuanced understanding of the mechanisms through which evidence-based interventions promote sustained improvements in mental health outcomes.

The primary objective involves developing comprehensive training programs that equip graduate students and faculty members with specialised competencies in neuroscientific research methodologies. These programs emphasise systematic application of experimental design principles, advanced statistical analysis techniques, and ethical research practices specific to neuroscience and positive psychology research domains.

The secondary objective focuses on translational research initiatives that bridge the gap between laboratory findings and real-world applications. This translational emphasis involves designing and evaluating community-based interventions grounded in empirical research, with a particular focus on cultural adaptation and implementation science principles. The laboratory prioritises research that demonstrates clear pathways from scientific discovery to practical intervention strategies that can be effectively deployed within diverse community settings.

The laboratory's commitment to evidence-based practice ensures that all intervention development activities are grounded in robust empirical foundations, contributing to the broader scientific literature while generating practical solutions for enhancing population-level well-being outcomes.

This year, we have started a Summer School program to help students understand the basics of Fostering Positive Communities. The program has gathered immense appreciation from the community, and it's a start of co-creating meaningful living and evidence-based research to foster positive communities.
