Add-On Course on Analysing Financial Markets using Financial Modelling
<p>Course Directors: Dr. Manju Sahai, Prof. (Dr.) Sonali Ahuja Dua, Ms. Chitra Kheria, Ms. Iti Verma, and Ms. Anam Khan<p>The Add-on Course on “Analysing Financial Markets using Financial Modelling,” organized by the Add-on Course Committee in association with the Department of Commerce, Gargi College, in collaboration with IBM, was a 65-hour online programme conducted from September 2025 to March 2026. The course represented a significant initiative to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry-oriented skills in the dynamic field of financial markets. The programme commenced with an orientation session that highlighted the importance of continuous learning in an ever-evolving global environment, while familiarizing participants with the course structure, objectives, and expected outcomes. Throughout the duration of the course, students actively participated in well-structured online sessions led by industry experts, ensuring consistent exposure to real-world financial practices and applications. Designed to build strong practical foundations, the course enabled students to interpret technical charts, identify market trends and patterns, determine strategic entry and exit points, and critically evaluate companies for investment purposes. Participants also gained exposure to NSE/BSE websites, screening tools, and trading platform demonstrations, equipping them with essential skills required in financial market analysis. Additionally, a seminar conducted by an industry expert further enriched the learning experience by offering deeper insights into the domain. The programme concluded with a valedictory session that celebrated the dedication and accomplishments of all participants, marking the successful completion of a rigorous and enriching learning journey. Overall, the course effectively equipped students with key competencies in technical and fundamental analysis, financial modelling, valuation techniques, and risk management, enabling them to approach real-world financial environments with confidence and competence.</p>
