Evaluation Capacity Building Workshop

On 21st November 2025, the Global Association of Economics Education, Department of Economics, Gargi College, in collaboration with the Community of Evaluators South Asia, organised an insightful Evaluation Capacity Building Workshop for undergraduate students.

The session was led by Ms. Rai Sengupta, Evaluation Consultant at UNICEF and a member of CoE-SA. She introduced students to the role of evaluation in strengthening programmes, policies, and community initiatives. From framing the right questions to designing indicators and interpreting evidence, she explained every concept in a clear and practical way.

The room was full of curiosity and active participation. Students asked thoughtful questions, looked at real examples, and worked through small activities that showed how evaluation can shape more effective and accountable social development work. The workshop encouraged everyone to view evaluation not just as a technical tool, but as a pathway to more meaningful, ethical, and evidence-based impact.

The event concluded with appreciation from faculty and students, who valued the knowledge and guidance shared during the session.
The workshop wasn’t just an academic activity. It was a step toward nurturing future economists who think critically, engage responsibly, and contribute to positive change within and beyond the Gargi community.
