The Department promotes leadership development through a democratically elected student body. Electronic elections are conducted to support e-governance and paperless practices. The student association organises academic seminars, lectures and cultural activities. Elected representatives work closely with faculty members under the guidance of the Association in charge. Students manage logistics, media, and accounts under faculty supervision. They coordinate with student volunteers across the department to plan and execute all departmental activities. Every year, “Pol Pourri” is organised as the annual academic event of the Department of Political Science at Gargi College. It includes speaker sessions/panel discussions and student competitions such as extempore speaking, poster making, slogan writing, video interpretation etc on contemporary issues. The annual event focuses on contemporary political themes and offers Delhi University students opportunities to develop their skills and engage in meaningful intellectual discussions. It is a significant event showcasing the department's intellectual vibrancy, with themes changing yearly, from "Peace and Conflict" to exploring Indian Federalism or Feminism.

Each year, the Department of Political Science at Gargi College organises Pol Pourri, its annual academic event. The event features speaker sessions and panel discussions alongside student-centric competitions such as extempore speaking, poster making, slogan writing and video interpretation, all centred on contemporary socio-political issues. Pol Pourri offers students of the University of Delhi a platform to enhance their analytical, creative, and communication skills while engaging in meaningful intellectual discourse. The event stands as a significant showcase of the department’s intellectual vibrancy and academic engagement.
