We, at, Q.E.D – The English Debating Society remain dedicated to cultivate a culture where perspectives are broadened, and voices are empowered.
Our mission extends far beyond winning debates. Every training session, mock debate, and tournament is designed to help members develop as individuals who engage with the world beyond the obvious.
Over the years, Q.E.D has continually evolved, setting higher benchmarks with each passing session.
What began as a society dedicated to public speaking has grown into a thriving community of passionate debaters who consistently represent the institution at some of the country's most prestigious debating tournaments.

Society Flagship Event
One of the defining pillars of Q.E.D is its flagship debating tournament, WAX Eloquent.
The tournament brings together some of the brightest minds from across institutions to deliberate on issues that shape society.
The 2025 edition of WAX Eloquent marked yet another successful chapter. The event welcomed over 30 teams representing more than 20 institutions, Participants debated motions spanning a wide range of disciplines, including economics, ethics, justice, governance, public policy, international relations.
Along with these events, we also conducted around 12 workshops on a variety of topics like Adjudication, Case preparation, speeches, mechanization, etc throughout the tenure, inviting extremely skilled and reputed debaters from all around India to train the members and enhance the functioning of the society.

Achievements
The society has reached new milestones in the year 2025-2026, strengthening its presence in the national and international debating circuit.

Among the year's most notable achievements was the Open Grand Finals Championship at the highly coveted Premchand Memorial Debate Tournament, one of the most competitive tournaments on the circuit.
Our adjudicators have continued to distinguish themselves. Members secured Best Adjudicator awards at internationally recognised tournaments, including The Global Autumn Open (TGAO), and domestic competitions such as Shivaji PD, LSR PD, GGS, etc.

The society also celebrated numerous successes in the novice category. Members secured Novice Champion titles at tournaments such as Gambit, Ehsaas, and Pride Open, while Novice Runner-Up finishes were achieved at Irtiqa, Premchand, and Mukalma. These accomplishments demonstrate the strength of the society's training and the remarkable growth of its newer members.

In addition to team achievements, Our speakers consistently earned Top 10 Best Speaker positions across multiple tournaments, adding another feather to the cap.

Our members have been Invited Adjudicator at distinguished debating competitions, including Warwick, Premchand Memorial Debate Tournament, Shri Ram Debating Festival (SRDF), Munaazrah, SDSMMPD, and Bhaavarth, demonstrating the trust placed in their judgement by the wider debating community.

Furthermore, many of our members have been subsidised adjudicators at renowned tournaments such as Mukalma, Parlance, IGDTUW PD, MITD, Shri Ram Debating Festival (SRDF), The Global Autumn Open (TGAO), and many more.
Beyond these headline accomplishments, Q.E.D members have consistently delivered strong performances across the debating circuit, securing numerous Open and Novice Quarter-Finalist, Semi-Finalist, and Finalist finishes at competitions throughout the year.
We take immense pride in their accomplishments and look forward to witnessing even greater milestones in the years to come.
