Kshitij, the Street Play Society of Gargi College, is a vibrant collective of performers, storytellers, and changemakers committed to using street play as a powerful medium for social awareness and dialogue. Through compelling performances, rigorous training, and collaborative creativity, the society strives to bring pressing social, political, and humanitarian issues to the forefront, fostering critical thought and meaningful conversations both within and beyond the college campus.

क्षितिज, गार्गी कॉलेज की स्ट्रीट प्ले सोसायटी, कलाकारों, कथाकारों और परिवर्तन के वाहकों का एक सशक्त समूह है, जो स्ट्रीट प्ले को सामाजिक जागरूकता और सार्थक संवाद का प्रभावशाली माध्यम मानता है। प्रभावशाली प्रस्तुतियों, सतत अभ्यास तथा सामूहिक सृजनात्मकता के माध्यम से यह सोसायटी सामाजिक, राजनीतिक एवं मानवीय मुद्दों को प्रमुखता से उठाती है और महाविद्यालय परिसर के भीतर तथा बाहर विचार-विमर्श और सामाजिक चेतना को प्रोत्साहित करती है।

सामाजिक-राजनीतिक नुक्कड़ नाटकों के माध्यम से ऐसे संवेदनशील युवाओं को तैयार करना, जो जागरूक हों, बदलाव लाने के लिए तत्पर हों और वैश्विक परिस्थितियों को समझ सकें।

For the session 2025–26, Kshitij presented its annual production, Long Live the War, a thought-provoking street play that examined the origins, progression, and aftermath of war. The production explored the devastating impact of conflict on ordinary lives, questioned the systems that sustain warfare, and highlighted the human cost borne by innocent communities while exposing the interests that ultimately profit from violence. Rooted in extensive research and contemporary global realities, the production resonated with audiences across the ‘Delhi Collegiate Theatre Circuit’ and beyond.

The society also successfully organized Aabhaas, Gargi College’s annual street play festival under Reverie, welcoming street play societies from various institutions to celebrate the spirit of street play, artistic exchange, and socially conscious performances.

Throughout the year, Kshitij continued its legacy of excellence by participating in numerous inter-college street play competitions, securing multiple first, second, and third positions across prestigious institutions. The society’s achievements included victories at Manipal University Jaipur, MDI Gurgaon, Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies, FORE School of Management, Manav Rachna, PGDAV College (Evening), and Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta Institute of Professional Studies. The team was further honoured with accolades such as Best , Best Direction, Best Production, Best Percussion, and multiple Special Mentions, reflecting its excellence across every aspect of street play.

Driven by passion, discipline, and a shared commitment to meaningful storytelling, Kshitij continues to uphold the rich tradition of street play while inspiring dialogue, empathy, and social responsibility. The society remains dedicated to creating impactful performances that challenge perspectives, amplify unheard voices, and leave audiences with conversations that extend far beyond the performance.

 

शैक्षणिक सत्र 2025–26 के दौरान क्षितिज ने अपनी वार्षिक प्रस्तुति “Long Live the War” का मंचन किया। यह एक विचारोत्तेजक स्ट्रीट प्ले था, जिसने युद्ध की उत्पत्ति, उसकी प्रक्रिया तथा उसके दूरगामी परिणामों को प्रभावशाली ढंग से प्रस्तुत किया। इस प्रस्तुति में आम जनजीवन पर युद्ध के विनाशकारी प्रभाव, हिंसा को बनाए रखने वाली व्यवस्थाओं पर प्रश्न तथा निर्दोष लोगों द्वारा झेली जाने वाली मानवीय त्रासदी को उजागर किया गया। व्यापक शोध और समकालीन वैश्विक परिप्रेक्ष्य पर आधारित इस प्रस्तुति ने Delhi Collegiate Theatre Circuit सहित अनेक मंचों पर दर्शकों की सराहना प्राप्त की।

सोसायटी ने Reverie के अंतर्गत गार्गी कॉलेज के वार्षिक स्ट्रीट प्ले महोत्सव Aabhaas का सफल आयोजन भी किया, जिसमें विभिन्न शिक्षण संस्थानों की स्ट्रीट प्ले सोसायटियों ने भाग लेकर अपनी प्रस्तुतियों के माध्यम से सामाजिक सरोकारों, रचनात्मक अभिव्यक्ति और कलात्मक आदान-प्रदान का उत्सव मनाया।

पूरे वर्ष क्षितिज ने विभिन्न अंतर-महाविद्यालयी स्ट्रीट प्ले प्रतियोगिताओं में उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन करते हुए अनेक प्रथम, द्वितीय एवं तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त किए। सोसायटी ने Manipal University Jaipur, MDI Gurgaon, Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies, FORE School of Management, Manav Rachna, PGDAV College (Evening) तथा Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta Institute of Professional Studies सहित अनेक प्रतिष्ठित संस्थानों में उल्लेखनीय सफलताएँ अर्जित कीं। इसके अतिरिक्त, टीम को ‘बेस्ट स्क्रिप्ट’, ‘बेस्ट डायरेक्शन’, ‘बेस्ट प्रोडक्शन’, ‘बेस्ट परकशन’ तथा अनेक ‘स्पेशल मेंशन’ सम्मान प्राप्त हुए, जो स्ट्रीट प्ले के प्रत्येक आयाम में उसकी उत्कृष्टता का प्रमाण हैं।

जुनून, अनुशासन और सार्थक कथावाचन के प्रति अटूट प्रतिबद्धता के साथ क्षितिज स्ट्रीट प्ले की समृद्ध परंपरा को आगे बढ़ाते हुए समाज में संवाद, संवेदनशीलता और सामाजिक उत्तरदायित्व को निरंतर प्रोत्साहित कर रहा है। यह सोसायटी ऐसी प्रभावशाली प्रस्तुतियों के सृजन के लिए समर्पित है, जो स्थापित धारणाओं को चुनौती दें, अनसुनी आवाज़ों को मंच प्रदान करें और दर्शकों को प्रस्तुति समाप्त होने के बाद भी गहन चिंतन के लिए प्रेरित करें।
